By Stephen CarlickToronto blues-rock outfit July Talk's debut self-titled album drops today (October 16) courtesy of White Girl Records. And if you're curious about what's in store, you can now stream it all online.
The band whetted appetites last month with first single "Paper Girl," which demonstrated the band's ability to shift gears quickly from quiet, folksy melodies to overdriven squalls of noise and feedback. The band's influences reportedly included Johnny Cash and June Carter, Tom Waits, and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, all of which are channelled across the album's 10 tracks.
Listen to the entirety of July Talk below, and make sure to catch the band on their current Canadian tour.
