Well, if that piqued your interest, you'll be pleased to know that we now have a full-album stream of the entire ten-track record.
Till the Morning Shows Her Face to Me follows 2010's Dawn Time Riot, and as the press release explains, the new album "sobers up a little with sonic experimentation and introspection amidst some razor-sharp rock."
This leads to the more subdued sounds of tracks like "Yellow Yard" and "Dreams," but those are complemented by the more foot-stomping sounds of songs such as the previously released "Derby Girl."
Till the Morning Shows Her Face to Me isn't due out until November 1 via Apple Crisp Records, but you can currently stream it in its entirety below.
In support of the new album, the Gertrudes are also set to play a number of Canadian tour dates. See the schedule below.

Their music evokes a very particular place that I also feel transcends that place into something universally enjoyable. I am always excited by a new release on the Apple Crisp Records label, and am now even more excited that the Gertrudes are on tour. It's about time.
