"Reeling the Liars In" (Swans cover)
By Gregory AdamsCold Specks' Al Spx has been described as a "doom soul" singer, so the thought of the Etobicoke, ON native delivering a cover of eerie post-punk greats Swans' "Reeling the Liars In" shouldn't come as much of a surprise.
Her take on the cut, which appears on her Record Store Day EP Dancing Coins, doesn't stray too much from the original, but Spx injects a little extra gospel warmth to the lyrics about piling bodies on the fire.
