By Gregory AdamsChildish Gambino (aka actor Donald Glover) has plans to issue his sophomore set Because the Internet sometime in the future, presumably before 3005, which happens to be the name of the rapper's new single.
UPDATE: The album's release date is now December 10, courtesy of Glassnote music.
The song, which you can stream down below, gets by on stilted, poppy synth lines and has Gambino rifling back and forth between nervous, self-consciously spat bars and a Drake-styled croon. Areas covered include dancing along to hits on the radio, existential crises, spending cash and generally just being uncertain of what's to come ("Sorry, I'm just scared of the future/ Til 3005, I got your back. We can do this").
An arrival time has yet to be fixed for Because the Internet, though Childish Gambino had mentioned in an open letter that he had been arguing with his label over a potential December street date.
