Wu-Tang Clan's 'Legend of the Wu-Tang' Gets Vinyl Reissue

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jan 2, 2015

While the Wu-Tang Clan looked towards A Better Tomorrow with their long-delayed album of the same name, lukewarm reviews for the platter suggest many will be sticking with the iconic hip-hop act's classic cuts. Fittingly enough, the group are about to bring back the ruckus with a vinyl reissue of their 2004 greatest-hits collection, Legend of the Wu-Tang.

Following semi-recent represses of 1997's Wu-Tang Forever, 2000's The W and 2001's Iron Flag, Music on Vinyl will next deliver the Shaolin-themed singles collection on January 26.

The double LP arrives on "crystal clear" vinyl, with the four sides covering classic Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) cuts like "C.R.E.A.M." and "Da Mystery of Chessboxin'," along with remixes of that album's "Method Man" and "Protect Ya Neck." Later singles preserved on the set include "Gravel Pit," "Triumph" and more.

In addition to album tracks, Legend of the Wu-Tang also includes three songs contributed to various soundtracks: "Shaolin Worldwide" from Next Friday, a cover of Run D.M.C.'s "Sucker M.C.'s" for In Tha Beginning...There Was Rap and their Soul in the Hole contribution "Diesel."
