The Wooden Sky

"Baby, Hold On" on Exclaim! TV

It appears as if the boys in the Wooden Sky have finally taken Fleetwood Mac maestro Lindsey Buckingham's message and decided to go "go [their] own way." With their recent departure from Black Box Music, the creation of their own label (Chelsea Records) and Exclaim!-certified LP (the glorious Let's Be Ready), the Toronto-based roots rock outfit are back and better than ever.

Thankfully, the Exclaim! crew were able to witness the band's positive transformation firsthand during a recent stripped-down session for Exclaim! TV, in which the act (accompanied by a drum machine) performed "Baby, Hold On" in the front foyer of our office.

Performing with a parlor guitar (note: this may not be a parlor — Gavin Gardiner is a tall, tall man), the band's frontman drives the lean and low-key ballad forward with his syrupy vocals alongside the group's overall harmonies.

Speaking of lean, the band have formed a running crew called "The Wooden Sky Road Runners" to benefit MusiCounts for the upcoming Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon. You can join their crew here, or better yet, donate to the cause by clicking here.

After that, watch the Exclaim! TV session below.
