Whitechapel

"Let Me Burn" (NSFW video)

Knoxville, TN annihilators Whitechapel are presenting the death of a family, both literally and figuratively, in an especially disturbing and gory new video for Our Endless War number "Let Me Burn." With plenty of blood, abuse, and a title-referencing self-immolation, please take note that it's extremely NSFW.

Scored by brutal breakdowns, gargling vocals and detuned riffery, the video finds an unhealthy man escaping a health facility and tracking down a couple of family members. Throughout the vid, he mutilates his body, and violently attacks a pair of women.

According to vocalist Phil Bozeman, Mitch Massie's disturbing narrative focuses on a husband, his wife and his daughter. The short film is intended to highlight mental health issues as much as it does abuse.

"The story depicts the degradation of the man and him going insane," Bozeman said. "He kills his wife and eventually douses himself in gasoline and begs his daughter to strike the match. But the whole point of the story is that the man has everything he wants and needs, but has no control over his mind and suffers with clinical insanity/schizophrenia and regrets everything he has done."

Whitechapel head out on tour this spring, hitting up several Canadian clubs along the way. You'll find out more info on the dates over here.
