Vancouver's self-described "dirty, grimy, fuzz rock" trio We Hunt Buffalo have put out an album and a few short-form releases since 2010, and now their years of work have paid off in the form of a deal with Toronto label New Damage Records.
The band haven't yet announced any firm details surrounding their first release for New Damage, but a press release promises that a sophomore album will released later this year. Evidently the album is already finished; as of press time, their Twitter bio reads, "New record is in the bag!" This new album will follow 2013's Blood from a Stone EP.
"We couldn't be happier to be signing with New Damage," said Ryan Forsythe in a statement. "For the style of music we're playing, it is the perfect home. We're stoked to be on the same roster as Biblical, Cancer Bats, USA out of Vietnam and Black Mastiff, some of our favourite Canadian bands. We look forward to getting this new record out and sharing our brand of fuzz rock with this country's eclectic music scene."
In the meantime, the band will spend the coming weeks touring in Western Canada. This includes a string of dates with their new label-mates Cancer Bats.
Tour dates:
05/22 Nanaimo, BC - The Queens
05/23 Esquimalt, BC - The Cambie
05/24 Coquitlam, BC - Hard Rock Casino Vancouver
06/17 Banff, AB - Elk & Oarsman
