As previously announced, Smashing Pumpkins star Billy Corgan is spending approximately eight hour hours today (February 28) turning Hermann Hesse's 1922 novel Siddhartha into an improvised ambient soundscape. If you're interested in gawking at this bizarre performance, you have a chance thanks to a live thanks to a video stream.
The performance is taking place at Corgan's own Madame ZuZu's Teahouse in Chicago. As of press time, it's a little more casual than we expected, since Corgan just appears to be milling around and fiddling with audio equipment while an audio book of Siddhartha periodically plays in the background.
It's not clear exactly where in Madame ZuZu's he is, since this doesn't look much like a teahouse. The camera is mostly centred on Corgan while a couple of other people wander in and out of the shot.
