The Wallflowers Return with 'Glad All Over,' Recruit Mick Jones for New Single

Since the last time the Wallflowers released a new album, 2005's Rebel, Sweetheart, frontman Jakob Dylan has released a pair of solo albums. Now, Bob Dylan's progeny has reunited with his once-successful band for the new album, Glad All Over, which will arrive on October 2 through Columbia Records.

The album was tracked at Black Keys singer Dan Auerbach's Easy Eye Sound studio in Nashville. It was produced by Jay Joyce (Emmylou Harris, Cage the Elephant) and Rich Costey (Weezer, Foo Fighters).

For the sessions, Dylan was joined by longtime Wallflowers Greg Richling (bass) and Rami Jaffee (keyboards), plus recent touring guitarist Stuart Mathis and newly recruited drummer Jack Irons (of Red Hot Chili Peppers/Pearl Jam fame).

Next Tuesday (July 24), the band will release the single "Reboot the Mission" for free via their website. A press release calls it "a Clash-inspired track with an unmistakable shuffle backbeat," which is appropriate enough considering that it features Mick Jones on vocals and guitar.

The Wallflowers are currently on a brief U.S. tour. See their schedule here.
