After a high energy set from rising Chicago emcee Tink, fellow XXL Freshman 2015 cover star Vince Staples proved why he's also one to watch this year. Culling his setlist from last year's mixtape Shyne Coldchain Vol. 2 and the stellar EP Hell Can Wait (released on Def Jam), he also gave the crowd a generous taste of what we can expect from his upcoming debut album Summertime '06, which is out in two weeks.

Dressed head-to-toe in black, the 21-year-old Long Beach, California rapper's muscular performance clocked in at under 30 minutes, but he didn't let his foot off the gas pedal once. Ending with the one-two punch of "Señorita" (which cleverly borrows a chorus from Future's "Covered N' Money") and the sinister "Blue Suede" (produced by Toronto's Marvin "Hagler" Thomas), he left the audience retreating to the church's courtyard to cool down and catch their collective breath.
