Getting anxious waiting for festivals in the summer? There's no need to wait: This week's Can't Miss Concerts has just the fix with a couple of winter festivals, along with a handful of other amazing shows that you need to be at. Big Fun Festival

Big Fun Festival is your best bet at getting away from the brutally cold Winnipeg winters each year and checking out amazing local talent at the same time. The festival will be running until February 1, and you'll have plenty of chances to check out a variety of up and coming bands like Conduct and Operators. Be sure not to miss out on any of the dates this weekend.

Megaphono Festival

Ottawa will be full of great live music this week during the debut of Megaphono Festival, which will run from February 3 to 5. This brand new music showcase festival puts the spotlight on some of the city's most promising bands, coming out of a variety of homegrown scenes. Get in on the action this week and expose yourself to some new music.

Death From Above 1979/METZ

Toronto noise rockers Death From Above 1979 and METZ continue their Canadian tour with a slew of dates in Ontario this week. Be sure to make it out to these shows, as Death From Above are bound to be playing songs from their latest LP, The Physical World, alongside older favourites.

Junia-T

Mississauga native Junia-T will be playing a Toronto show this week, showcasing his smooth traditional hip-hop flow. The MC/producer dropped his album Eye See You last year in November and will be performing tracks from the release. Junia-T is an independent Canadian hip-hop artist to keep an eye on, so don't sleep on this opportunity to see him perform.

Kastle

Love electronic music? Los Angeles-based dub/house artist Kastle is sure to get your head nodding with his bass heavy, R&B-influenced tunes. Kastle creates intricate soundscapes and incorporates a great deal of melody and texture into his work, creating an overall powerful sound. Check him out when he stops by British Columbia and Alberta this week.

Viet Cong

Alberta post-punkers Viet Cong are touring in support of their self titled debut album right now, and will be making stops this week in Toronto and Montreal. With their hazy dark melodies and fuzzy distorted vocals, Viet Cong blend sounds effectively to create a dark brooding atmosphere.
