While the Polaris Music Prize recognizes albums and the ECHO Songwriting Prize honours songs, the Prism Prize is dedicated to celebrating Canada's best music videos from the past year. Following the prize's recent launch, the shortlist of 10 nominees has been announced.

The top 10 are, in no particular order:

Mother Mother - "The Sticks" (Director: Chad Van Gaalen)

Yamantaka // Sonic Titan - "Hoshi Neko" (Directors: Emily Pelstring and Ruby Kato Attwood)
Grimes - "Oblivion" (Director: Emily Kai Bock)

Young Rival - "Two Reasons" (Director: John Smith)

Drake - "H.Y.F.R" (Director: Director X)

Arcade Fire - "Sprawl II" (Director: Vincent Morisset)

Rich Aucoin - "Brian Wilson Is A.L.I.V.E" (Director: Noah Pink)

Maylee Todd - "Baby's Got It" (Director: Reynard Li)

Grimes - "Genesis" (Director: Claire Boucher)

METZ - "Wet Blanket" (Director: Scott Cudmore)

The final results will be announced on March 24 at Canadian Music Week, with the winner taking home a $5,000 cash prize.

Any Canadian music video released in 2012 was eligible. The nominees and eventual winner were selected by nationwide jury of music industry workers, including journalists, broadcasters and TV/radio personalities. The clips were judged according to their originality, creativity, style, innovation and effective execution.
