The summer festival season has yet to kick off, but Victoria, BC's fall-centric Rifflandia could have your eyes and ears set on September, as organizers have just announced the first few big names that will make it out to their fifth annual event.
Rifflandia has revealed the first 20 artists of its 2012 fest, which runs across the city September 13 to 16, and the big news is that everyone's favourite Oklahoman pop oddballs the Flaming Lips will make their way out to Vancouver Island this fall.
Unsurprisingly, homegrown musicians will figure prominently in the fest this year as well, with some notable Canuck acts including Sloan, Dan Mangan, Austra, Rich Aucoin, Hey Ocean!, Chixdiggit, Royal Canoe, Wake Owl and Longwalkshortdock.
Other out-of-town artists set to appear include Cake, the Aggrolites, Black Uhuru, Saul Williams, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, and more. You can see the rest of the unveiling here.
