Talk about a Good Friday, it seems like there's something on the horizon from Christian metalcore crew Underoath. Though the band played a farewell tour in 2013, their social media pages are now teasing a "rebirth."
Today (July 31) the band uploaded various images to Twitter and Facebook that feature the tag line: "Rebirth is coming." This includes a quick video that mixes the message with various photos and a piece of backwards-masked music.
A fan quickly uploaded a doubly reversed audio clip that reveals the line "I'm drowning in my sleep," which is taken from the band's 2004 single "It's Dangerous Business Walking Out Your Front Door".
You can hear both clips down below.
It's unclear at the moment what the band have in store for the faithful, but if we're following this with the biblical resurrection in mind, it's possible the details could surface as soon as Monday. Stay tuned for more info.
Underoath had initially announced they were calling it quits back in 2012, putting a close on a 15-year career that produced seven full-length LPs. Their 2013 farewell tour was chronicled in the Tired Violence documentary, which was released earlier this year.
Since the band broke up, vocalist Spencer Chamberlain released an LP with his Sleepwave project. More recently, original frontman Dallas Taylor popped up in David Spade film Joe Dirt 2 .
