Sleepwave, the new project from former Underoath vocalist Spencer Chamberlain, have revealed that they'll be delivering their debut album through Epitaph Records.
Very few details on the upcoming LP have been revealed thus far, but the label confirmed today (June 23) that the St. Petersburg, FL band have been added to the roster. Straying from Underoath's metalcore approach, Sleepwave's sound has been compared to alt-rock bands of yore like Smashing Pumpkins and Filter.
The band's first single "Rock and Roll Is Dead and So Am I" certainly sounds like the latter and was premiered online last fall. You can download the track through Sleepwave's Facebook page or check out a stream of the song down below.
Chamberlain had previously teased the project ahead of Underoath's farewell tour last summer, noting he'd written upwards of 30 songs. "Some of the fans will come with me, but some of them will probably be mad at me," he had said of Sleepwave at the time. More info on the as-yet-untitled full-length is forthcoming.
Having already toured with the Used and Taking Back Sunday, the act have now announced a tour with Nothing More. The trip hits Canada once, August 13 at Lee's Palace. You'll find all of the tour info down below.
