UGK member Pimp C, who passed away in December at the age of 33, reportedly died accidentally in his sleep. The rapper, whose real name is Chad Butler, was found dead on December 4, 2007 in his bed at the Mondrian Hotel in Hollywood two months ago, and now Ed Winter, spokesperson for the L.A. County Coroner's office, has confirmed Butler's death was the result of a combination of a pre-existing sleep apnea condition and an overdose on high amounts of prescription codeine and promethazine in his blood.

The drugs found are fundamental ingredients in "syrup" or "sizzurp," a recreational substance of choice in Southern rap circles that was celebrated by Three 6 Mafia and Pimp C's Underground Kingz in the 2000 single "Sippin' On Some Syrup."

Butler, who along with UGK partner Bernard "Bun B" Freeman, released last year's highly acclaimed comeback album, Underground Kingz, and were best known for appearing on Jay-Z's "Big Pimpin'" single in 2000 and most recently with OutKast on their own Grammy-nominated single, "International Player's Anthem (I Choose You)."
