While Ty Segall's FUZZ project are just about ready to release their self-titled LP, there's even more new music in store from the psych rockers than we had originally thought. A two-song 7-inch is primed to arrive September 17 via In the Red, ahead of the album's October 1 due date.
The mini-release is FUZZ's third 7-inch, and it features two exclusive cuts not found on the upcoming album. First up is an original titled "Sunderberry Dream." While a press release had previously pointed to FUZZ being influenced by the likes of Black Sabbath, Blue Cheer and Jimi Hendrix, the band pay homage to prog greats King Crimson on the flip via a cover of "21st Century Schizoid Man."
As for the album proper, it's apparently "ferocious, with a sludgy, psyched-out, proto-metal sound steeped in shredding fuzztone guitar." On top of Segall pulling double duty by both singing and cracking the drum kit, the trio features guitarist Charlie Moothart and bassist Roland Cosio.
FUZZ hit the road this fall, with Canadian stops scheduled in Montreal and Toronto. You can see the details down below.
