Ty Segall Signs to Drag City for New Studio Album

BY Josiah HughesPublished Mar 2, 2011

Long-haired San Francisco garage dude Ty Segall is apparently addicted to writing fuzzy pop hits, as the rocker can't stop from giving us a constant stream of new releases. In 2010, he released his excellent Melted album, as well as some stellar singles. Earlier this year, he followed that up with a live album called Live in Aisle 5. Now, we've learned that a new studio album is in the works as well.

According to Pitchfork, Segall's new album is called Goodbye Bread and will mark his first release with Drag City after a long stint on Goner Records. Little else is known about the album at this point, but an acoustic version of the title track is available below and Drag City will release Goodbye Bread on June 21.

In addition to the new LP, Segall will keep the momentum going on the road as he completes a North American tour. All upcoming dates are available below. You may notice that his previously reported show in Hamilton, ON has been replaced with an appearance at Toronto's Wrongbar instead as part of CMW.
