"Wake the Dead"

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jul 28, 2015

San Francisco punk crew toyGuitar are part of the upcoming "Fat Wrecked for 25 Years" tour, but the band aren't only releasing music via the iconic Fat Wreck Chords imprint. An upcoming four-way split on TrueTrash Records and Flix will house a new song from the crew called "Wake the Dead," but you can stream it online now ahead of the official fall release.

The track mixes Bay Area punk grit with a bit of English glam, with distorted vocals and a jittery backbeat meshing quite nicely with Mick Ronson-style guitar grandeur. The arrangement also features a few choice backup "woo woos," some speaker-panning six-string moments, and a whole lot of swagger. You can stream it below.

The upcoming Great Thieves Escape split also features cuts from Get Dead, the Uprising, and Lost in Society. It hits stores October 10.

As for the "Fat Wrecked for 25 Years" trip, it starts August 6 in Toronto, and has toyGuitar traveling alongside NOFX, Lagwagon, Swingin' Utters and more. You'll find more details over here.
