The Toronto Urban Roots Festival will be closing out a jam-packed summer of music festivals in the city when it returns to Fort York Garrison Common for its third instalment this year. Running a bit later than usual due to major events like the Pan Am games overtaking Toronto in July, TURF will take place from September 18 to 20 this time around.

Organizers have also unveiled this year's lineup, which features 46 artists like Of Monsters and Men, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, Wilco, the Avett Brothers, Neko Case, UB40, Cake, Lord Huron, Desaparecidos, Deerhunter, and Built to Spill.

Also on the bill are St. Paul and the Broken Bones, Shakey Graves, Will Butler, the Punch Brothers, Fishbone, Cold Specks, Elliott Brood, Skydiggers, the Sadies, Chuck Ragan, Murder by Death, the Elwins, Good Old War, NQ Arbuckle, Ron Hawkins and the Do Good Assassins, Restorations, Julian Taylor Band, and Sate.

"When you see the whole of our lineup, it seems obvious to me it's hands down the best one we've had yet, said TURF's artistic director Jeff Cohen in a statement. "I'm beyond thrilled to be programming TURF in September and excited to see if North American music fans are equally enthused about our lineup as I am."

Shows will take place over the weekend on three stages at Fort York, with additional performances from TURF artists to take place at Lee's Palace and the Horseshoe Tavern between September 17 and 21 as part of the festival's Club Bonus Series.

Tickets go on sale April 23, and you can find all the festival details over at TURF's official website.
