Toro y Moi

"Pitch Black" (ft. Rome Fortune)

Although Toro y Moi's album What For? is only a few months old, shapeshifting songwriter Chaz Bundick has been been rolling out a string of new tracks. Now, he's shared another loosie in the form of the Rome Fortune-assisted "Pitch Black."

In keeping with Toro y Moi's other recent tracks, "Pitch Black" is a big departure from the organic, psych-leaning pop-rock of What For?, instead favouring an electronic hip-hop vibe. Bundick cooks up a moody blend of minimal synths and jumbling beat syncopations over which Rome Fortune rhymes about "the coolest mother-funker on the planet."
