Tim and Eric's Pusswhip Banggang Prep 'Jambalaya' 12-inch for Drag City

Aside from defining the tone and aesthetic of so much modern televised comedy, the wacky duo of Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim have also released some seriously fascinating comedic music. One of their many projects, Pusswhip Banggang, will now be immortalized with a new 12-inch record.

Whether for Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!, the Heidecker & Wood project or the piss-play-obsessed Yellow River Boys, Heidecker has remained busy as a composer and performer. Wareheim too is a notable musician (he even played in legendary Philly punk act Ink & Dagger for a spell), and he's also helmed videos for the likes of Beach House and Major Lazer, among others.

Together, they've spent recent years touring with the ridiculous, hippie-leaning granola rock combo Pusswhip Banggang. The self-described "swamp rock" band has prepared their debut release, a 12-inch picture disc called Jambalaya.

Following hits like "Fudge Man," "Kiss Me Once" and "Don't Call Me Uncle," the new release includes a song and recipe for how to make a dish called, well, "jambalaya."

No strangers to comedic novelty releases themselves, Drag City will release Jambalaya on June 24. The release will include a gatefold jacket that includes a recipe and plenty of hi-res graphics.

Jambalaya coincides with Pusswhip Banggang's upcoming summer tour. They won't be hitting Canada, unfortunately, but the dates are below in case you feel like following them around.

Tour dates:

06/20 Atlanta, GA - The Earl
06/21 Birmingham, AL - Bottletree
06/22 New Orleans, LA - Howlin' Wolf
