Texas Is the Reason Announce North American Reunion Tour, Play Toronto

Recently reunited '90s post-hardcore quartet Texas Is the Reason played a couple of gigs in New York as part of Revelation Records' string of 25th anniversary shows, but now the band have revealed that they'll take themselves around North America in 2013.

A tweet and a tour trailer arrived this morning (November 5) that confirmed the band will head out for a handful of dates, which will apparently precede some potentially more global-minded adventures.

"First up in 2013: Taking it to the streets. North America gets the first swing," the band tweeted, adding that tickets for the shows, which include a Toronto stop at Lee's Palace March 8, go on sale this Friday (November 9).

While Texas Is the Reason initially only delivered a 7-inch, some split releases and their 1996 masterwork Do You Know Who You Are?, it looks as if fans in attendance will be treated to some previously unreleased material on the tour as well.

The band have been recording with producer J. Robbins, who had previously recorded drummer Chris Daly when he played with Jets to Brazil, at his Maryland studio. Apparently, these are some older songs that weren't tracked during the band's initial run. It's possible these songs could have made up what would have been their Capitol Records debut. The band have yet to announce plans for the tracks, though they seemed to be pretty stoked with how these new sessions are turning out.

"Listening to J. Robbins mix, thinking that after tonight, @TXisthereason will have tied up the longest of loose ends," guitarist Norman Brannon tweeted last week. "The songs are amazing."
