Appleton, WI trio Tenement have spent the last eight years writing forward-thinking punk songs and winning over audiences the world over. They've got 12 releases under their belts already, two of which are full-length albums, but they'll soon prove they haven't run out of ideas with a new double album.
The release is called Predatory Headlights and features 25 new tracks from the group. It marks their first release for Don Giovanni Records following records for labels like Cowabunga, Let's Pretend and Recess.
A press release promises that the new double album will establish Tenement as a force to be reckoned with outside of their place as underground punk-scene heroes. "They're no longer only an obscure punk band from the farthest reaches of society's consciousness, but also one of America's great outsider pop groups," it reads.
Predatory Headlights took three years to record. It was recorded with engineer and co-producer Justin Perkins (of Yesterday's Kids and the Obsoletes). The album was recorded at the band's home studio, which was demolished days after the record was completed.
Don Giovanni will issue Predatory Headlights on June 2. The album can be pre-ordered here, while its lead single "Dull Joy" can be streamed below.
Tenement also have a string of North American tour dates in the works, including a stop at Calgary's Garbage Daze festival, which runs from June 5 to 7, and a performance at Ottawa Explosion's "bonus round" on June 22.
