"Betty and Veronica" (lyric video)

Earlier this year, Exclaim! premiered Ottawa-based indie rock outfit the Stringers' video for "Apology," off the band's debut EP See You at 7. Now, they're moving forward with a series of new singles, and you can hear the first of the set right here at Exclaim!

"Betty and Veronica" was written by frontman Marco Ferraris about his experiences towards the end of university — when real life is about to start and friends are moving on in a variety of different directions. In a statement about the new track, he also explains that it's "about the hilariousness of how seasonal romance is" at a young age.

"It gets damn cold in Ottawa and everyone wants to settle down, cuddle and watch Friends," he observed. "When it warms up, everyone wants to frolic."

The new tune captures both sentiments and was recorded with Bryan Rucksthul and Jon Chandler of Amos the Transparent at Shoebox Studios in Kanata, ON. You can hear the results in the player below, accompanied by a lyric video.
