Stone Roses' 'Made of Stone' Documentary Gets North American Theatrical Run and DVD/Blu-ray Release

While we're apparently a couple years off from a new Stone Roses album, North American fans of the baggy Manchester band will finally be treated to a proper theatrical release of this year's Made of Stone documentary.

A press release confirms that while last week saw the official North American debut at the CBGB Festival in New York, director Shane Meadows's (This Is England) look at the band will receive a wider release in the U.S. and Canada on November 6. The music doc hit UK theatres last spring, and according to the filmmaker, he knows that fans on this side of the pond have been waiting patiently for their turn to see the footage.

"I know what it's like to miss out on a Stone Roses gig and I know that a lot of the North American fans have been waiting to view this film since the summer, so I'm just glad we can finally share the film with them all," he said. "Throughout filming, my love for the music has just grown and grown and to be party to watching something grow is a real privilege. What I saw in those first rehearsals blew my mind, and yet when I returned a month later it was even better."

You can head here to see the currently confirmed list of theatres screening Made of Stone.

If, by chance, the flick doesn't manage to make its way to your local movie house, MVD Entertainment Group has got you covered. Made of Stone arrives on DVD and Blu-ray in the U.S. December 3.

UPDATE: In Canada, the DVD/Blu-ray release will be out via Conveyor/Universal Music Canada on November 25.

As previously reported, in addition to telling the history of the Manchester outfit, Made of Stone follows the band through their 2011 reunion up to a series of three homecoming gigs at Manchester's Heaton Park. You can see a trailer for the film down below.
