Steven Tyler: "I am not leaving Aerosmith... Joe Perry, you are a man of many colours. But I, motherfucker, am the rainbow!"

Earlier this week, the news broke that rock'n'roll granddads Aerosmith were facing a dire future after singer Steven Tyler apparently quit. Tyler told media outlets that he was planning to work on the brand of himself, "Brand Tyler," as he so eloquently put it.

Guitarist Joe Perry, worried about the future of Aerosmith, was unclear about whether the group would break up altogether or if they'd try to replace Tyler. Fortunately for Aerosmith, that's a bridge the band won't have to cross. As Music Radar reports, Tyler appeared on stage with the Joe Perry Project last night (November 10) to announce that he hasn't left the band.

"I just want New York to know, I am not leaving Aerosmith," Tyler said. Rather than leave it at that, however, he then chose to drop one of the best quotes we've heard in a while. Turning to the Aerosmith guitarist, he said, "Joe Perry, you are a man of many colours. But I, motherfucker, am the rainbow!"

The night ended happily ever after with the band performing "Walk This Way," and the great Aerosmith crisis of '09 was averted. Hopefully, this means we can now stop talking about Aerosmith so damn much.
