Stars

"Trap Door" (video)

BY Alex HudsonPublished Mar 4, 2015

Should Stars make a video for "Trap Door" or "No One Is Lost"? That's the question on everyone's lips at the beginning of the group's latest video, which turns out to be for — as you probably guessed from the title of this post — "Trap Door."

For more than two minutes at the beginning of this black and white clip, the Canadian indie pop group mill around the stage and talk about what song they're going to play. Singer Torquil Campbell argues that they a video for "Trap Door," and clearly he gets his way, since they play that danceable, synth-spiked cut from last year's No One Is Lost.

It was directed by Anthony Von Seck at Metropolis in Montreal. According to a press release, "The video reveals candid soundcheck moments that erupt into a zealous live performance."
