Spiritualized Recording New Album with Killing Joke's Youth

Good news for space rock fans: Spiritualized have hit the studio to put together their first full-length since 2012's Sweet Heart Sweet Light. Recording sessions are already underway in London.

The news came in a Facebook post from leader Jason Pierce, who revealed that Killing Joke bassist Martin "Youth" Glover is taking on production duties. Recording sessions are currently taking place at Glover's London studio, but the album will apparently be completed in Spain. Killing Joke likewise confirmed Glover's participation in the production of Pierce's upcoming eighth Spiritualized LP.

Though it's been three years since Pierce's last platter, Spiritualized have also been treated to a few vinyl reissues since the release of Sweet Heart Sweet Light. First came a vinyl repress of concert album Fucked Up Inside last spring, while the group's Amazing Grace and Songs in A&E were once again issued on wax this past December.

In related news, Killing Joke also have a new album on the way, having reported last month over Facebook that the album will arrive at a later date via Spinefarm/Universal. Their last full-length was MMXII.
