Ninja Tune-supported DJ mix show Solid Steel has been around since 1988, and it's taken the form of a radio show, a podcast, mix CDs and club nights. Now, the series is relaunching with a new website and some high-profile contributors.
The relaunch comes with a new mix from Canadian electronic guru Caribou, along with French experimental composer Colleen. Next week, there will be also new sets from Four Tet and Anthony Naples.
Furthermore, fans will be able to dig back into the archives, as Solid Steel will be uploading material from throughout its lengthy history. We can already hear old sessions from Caribou (plus an even earlier one from when he was known as Manitoba), Autechre, the Orb, Diplo, Bonobo, the Gaslamp Killer and others. More old sessions will continue to be uploaded to the library.
