While a mid-day set might work against a lot of bands' stage set-up and general vibe, Solange couldn't have come on at a better time. Soaking up the early afternoon sun, the crowd gave her a generous welcome when she walked out to join her immaculately styled backing band on stage. Looking flawless in summery prints, she breezed through songs from her True EP, including "Some Things Never Seem to Fucking Work," "Losing You" and "Lovers in the Parking Lot." She even dusted off her cover of Dirty Projectors' "Stillness is the Move." The songs took on new life in the festival environment, seeming to lose their darker R&B side in favour of danceable, summery pop. The previous day's appearance with Grizzly Bear and her involvement in the hip-hop Superjam didn't seem to wear her down in the slightest. She hit every note and then some, all the while showing off her effortlessly cool moves. She encouraged the audience to do the same, but though it may be fun to try — no. No, you cannot dance as well as Solange.
