Snoop Dogg Invests in Weed Delivery App

Snoop Dogg has been known to blaze some kush from time to time, to say the least. Now, he's helping California smokers get the hook up — legally — by investing in a new, Uber-style marijuana delivery app.

Reports have surfaced that the rapper's Casa Verde Capital is one of many companies to invest in Eaze, a San Francisco start-up that promises to deliver medical marijuana to your door. The specifics on who contributed what are hazy, but Business Insider reports that the company has raised $10 million US from investors, including Casa Verde Capital, DCM Ventures, 500 Startups and Fresh VC.

Eaze was founded by Keith McCarty, and currently services the Bay Area's legal weed needs. The on-demand style app has partnered up with marijuana dispensaries in the area, as well as licensed drivers. Using the app, you can select a strain of your choice (for instance, the Eaze website puts the spotlight on a "super frosty and smooth" strain called "Berry White"), and then have the product "in minutes."

While currently only available in Northern California, the budding business has the potential to extend its reach beyond medically prescribed marijuana. Alaska, Colorado, Washington state, and Washington, DC, have all passed laws legalizing the recreational use of marijuana.

Snoop's involvement seems more than appropriate, given the pro-pot stance of his long and storied career.

Meanwhile, the rapper's new Pharrell-produced BUSH lands May 12 through Columbia Records. Bay Area rap fans might want to pre-order some product on Eaze to celebrate come release day.
