Sleater-Kinney Return with 'No Cities to Love'

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Oct 20, 2014

Following a sudden surge in new album rumours late last week, Sleater-Kinney have made it official: the much-missed trio are set to return with their first new record in 10 years.

The trio of Carrie Brownstein, Corin Tucker and Janet Weiss will release their entire discography in the Start Together box set tomorrow (October 21) via Sub Pop, but it will no longer be a complete collection come the new year, a press release now confirms.

No Cities to Love will arrive on January 20 (also through Sub Pop) and will feature 10 new songs from the iconic riot grrrls. Just yesterday (October 19), the new single "Bury Our Friends" (which is included on a 7-inch in the box set) surfaced, but now it's been given the decked-out lyric video treatment courtesy of Miranda July.

The new record was produced by John Goodmanson, who previously worked with the group on Call the Doctor, Dig Me Out, All Hands on the Bad One and One Beat.

The deluxe LP version of No Cities to Love features a tri-fold jacket encased in an outer slipcover, and includes two bonus tracks on a single-sided 12-inch with an etching on the B-side. You can already pre-order it here.

The band will also be embarking on a tour in 2015, though no Canadian dates have been announced so far. You can scroll past the tracklisting for No Cities to Love to see the upcoming dates and start planning your international road trip.
