We're 13 weeks into Adult Swim's ongoing summer singles program, but Slayer's newly landed contribution to the series has been titled "Cast the First Stone." It's a thinker, that's for sure, but let's not bust our brains too hard and just focus on the thrash titans' new, blood-soaked banger.
The track, which will also be included on the band's forthcoming Repentless LP, starts off ominously with a bit of discordant and doomy guitar work. Soon, the arrangement adds hammer-down drum damage, a few noodly licks and plenty of mean-mouthed cries from bassist Tom Araya, who hints that someone is going to be paying for past crimes with their own blood.
