Slam Dunk Sign to File Under: Music for 'Welcome to Miami'

Victoria, BC's sax-skronkin' party rockers Slam Dunk are set to take it to the hoop, or rather your stereo speakers, later this year with a full-length follow-up to last year's raucous The Shivers. The new LP is called Welcome to Miami, and it arrives via the group's new label home File Under: Music November 13.

Not much is known about the album just yet, but a press release for the set promises the garage-punk combo's upcoming outing will bring "backwoods howling and manic saxophone freak-outs," which certainly fits the energetic act's general M.O.

While we wait for more details to arrive for Welcome to Miami, now is as good a time as any to note that the NBA pre-season starts October 7 for this year's defending champions the Miami Heat. We can only assume Slam Dunk will be watching the big three of Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh making points in the paint when they take on the Atlanta Hawks.
