The Shins

"Bait and Switch" (video)

The Shins are once again promoting their upcoming Port of Morrow in advance of its March 20 release on Columbia/Aural Apothecary. This time, James Mercer are doing it in a more traditional manner than with a Funny or Die sketch; instead, they've filmed a music video for "Bait and Switch."

The song is a perky, guitar-driven pop rock tune that offers pretty much what you'd expect from any Shins track: a pleasant pop melody, densely lyrical poetry, and some ball-shrinkingly high vocals. As for the video, it's a straight-laced affair that shows the band performing in a gorgeous rehearsal space that appears to be a wooden cabin in the woods near Portland, OR.
