Sepultura Announce New "Under My Skin" 7-inch

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Apr 24, 2015

We already knew that metal mainstays Sepultura were going to celebrate their 30th anniversary with a hefty North American tour schedule, but now it's been revealed that the band are adding a new mini-release to this year's festivities. Nuclear Blast will issue the group's Under My Skin as a limited-edition 7-inch on June 5.

The band made mention of the mini-release on their website last month, though the art and street date details had been up in the air at the time. The newly unveiled artwork, which you can see up above, finds fan-submitted images of Sepultura tattoos fitted within the group's familiar logo.

While Sepultura's 2013 LP The Mediator Between Head and Hands Must Be the Heart was loosely inspired by Fritz Lang's 1927 film Metropolis, and inspected the relationship between man and machine, new tune "Under My Skin" is apparently a little less conceptual. As the band explained, it's a song about and for the fans.

"We wrote a new song that expresses the respect and love we have for you all, and the support we received during the last 30 years was overwhelming. No band has better fans like we have," Sepultura said in a statement. "We are still here doing what we do because of you! Lovers and haters alike, we are all one big family and we thank you! So, we will need your help once again!"

A live version of their "Kairos" appears on the B-side. The record is being preserved on black vinyl (200 copies), green vinyl (200 copies) and yellow vinyl (100 copies). You'll find out more about the release over here.

As for those North American tour plans, Sepultura kicks off their trip next month in Las Vegas. Joined by openers Destruction, Arsis and more, they'll hit concert spots in Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto and Montreal before wrapping the tour mid-June.
