Charges have been filed against a Seattle-area woman for sending a number of death threats to Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell over Twitter.
Seattle's Kiro 7 station reported late last week that Elizabeth Walden had issued over 100 threatening messages to the alt-rock figure, spread out over nine different Twitter accounts. Prosecutors in the case also claim that in addition to threatening Cornell, the messages "alluded to a rape of his 13-year-old daughter." The messages are said to constitute "cyber-stalking," and criminal charges have now been filed against Walden.
Sadly, this is not the first time the Soundgarden vocalist's family has been threatened with violence.
In 2007, Cornell filed a restraining order against Mathew Turner, an ex-sheriff's deputy accused of stalking the family with a gun. Allegedly hired by Cornell's ex-wife Susan Silver, who had sent "numerous threatening and terrifying death threats," Turner was said to have "harassed, frightened and stalked the Cornell family at all hours of the day and night, and even broke into their home, wandered from room to room and urinated in their home."
