The Sadies Join Neil Young & Crazy Horse Tour, Set Sights on New Album

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jun 26, 2012

Neil Young & Crazy Horse's fall tour behind their recently released Americana is already touting a stacked lineup. Beyond Shakey and his legendary bandmates, stages across North America will also be treated to performances from either Los Lobos or proto-punk poet Patti Smith. It turns out there will be some extra talent on hand throughout the trip, though, as long-running Toronto act the Sadies have just announced they'll be opening some shows too.

The Sadies will skip out on the October portion of the tour, but will kick off their seven-date stretch November 11 in Vancouver. You can see Young's full tour schedule down below.

The trip will be a reunion of sorts, as the act linked up with Young in 2010 to record a cover of "This Wheel's on Fire" for the A Canadian Celebration of the Band compilation.

In other news, the Sadies will heading into a recording studio with producer Gary Louris sometime this fall to record the proper follow-up to 2010's Polaris Music Prize short-listed LP, Darker Circles .
