Thanks to a fun-funded Kickstarter, rap duo Run the Jewels are going ahead with their incredibly silly plan to record their outstanding album Run the Jewels 2 with cat sounds. Now, we can hear a few short snippets from the so-called Meow the Jewels.
El-P revealed on Twitter that production on the remix album has begun, and he's using sounds from the meme sensation Lil Bub. He also posted a few short videos on Instagram that contain album opener "Jeopardy" as done with cat sounds. Hear those below.
Reports have suggested that Geoff Barrow, Just Blaze, Dan the Automator, Zola Jesus, the Alchemist, Baauer, Prince Paul, Boots, Nick Hook, Skywlkr and Solidified Sun will contribute to the album.
Money raised from the album will go to the families of Eric Garner and Michael Brown, both of whom were recently killed by police officers in the U.S.
