Rome Fortune Heads Off to Jail

While a series of mixtapes and singles have had Rome Fortune's stock on the rise, the Atlanta rapper is derailing his career for a moment to turn himself over to police for an as-yet-unspecified crime.

Fortune revealed his decision on Twitter this week, and while the reasoning is vague, he noted, "I gotta turn myself into jail Friday. Stupid ass past caught up to me. I'm only gone be gone for like a mth tho." Earlier today (January 16), over Instagram, he posted a video of himself outside of a police station. He thanked fans who have been supporting him, praised their positivity, and then asked them to pick up tickets to his upcoming spring tour with  IAMSU! That trip is scheduled to start March 26 in Los Angeles.

As a last gift before lock-up, Fortune also revealed a new single called "Pure." You'll find the pensive, Lava Dome-produced track, which features cuffed-up lyrics seemingly touching on the crimes Fortune's committed, down below.
