The multi-city, multi-day music event Riot Fest recently teased us with the dates for their 2015 edition, and now they've sweetened the pot by announcing the initial lineup for their Toronto festival.
As promised, organizers have put together another doozy of a fest for Toronto's event. The initial announcement includes the following acts:
Alexisonfire, Wu-Tang Clan, Rancid, Motörhead, All Time Low, Tyler, the Creator, Coheed and Cambria, Drive Like Jehu, Echo & the Bunnymen, Thrice, Frank Turner, Eagles of Death Metal, Against Me!, Babes in Toyland, Yelawolf, the Airborne Toxic Event, the Joy Formidable, Andrew W.K., Bayside, GWAR, the Thurston Moore Band, FIDLAR, Doomtree, Jazz Cartier, D.O.A., Moneen, Die Mannequin, Heat, OBGMs, Wildlife, Nova Rockafeller, the Dirty Nil, Indian Handcrafts, Like Pacific, the Dying Arts, Safe to Say, PARTYCAT, Willa, Tasha the Amazon, Rarity, Foxtrott, Twin River, Black Mastiff, and Tomahawk Love.
It's worth noting that the press release includes two bands listed simply as "????" suggesting that there are some more big-name acts yet to be announced. More headlining acts are expected to be announced on June 16.
Having some humour about the situation, the fest's Twitter bio reads, "I'm sorry we didn't book the exact bands you wanted, in the exact order you wanted, in the exact location you wanted, for free."
Dubbed the Riot Fest & Expo, Toronto's edition of the event takes place on September 19 and 20 at Downsview Park. Tickets for the fest are available here.
The fest will also host a Riot Fest & Sideshow in Denver from August 28 to 30. That edition features such acts as Modest Mouse, Pixies, Iggy Pop, Run-DMC, L7, Tenacious D, Ice Cube, Motörhead, Rancid, Drive Like Jehu, Flogging Molly, Thrice, Explosions in the Sky, Coheed and Cambria, Snoop Dogg, Cypress Hill, Eagles of Death Metal, De La Soul, GZA, the Get Up Kids, GWAR, Teenage Bottlerocket, the Damned, the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Desaparecidos, and the Dead Milkmen, among others.
As for Chicago's Riot Fest & Carnival, taking place from September 11 to 13, it will feature the likes of Faith No More, No Doubt, Modest Mouse, Iggy Pop, Tenacious D, Motörhead, L7, Rancid, Billy Idol, Babes in Toyland, Against Me!, Desparecidos, Snoop Dogg, Echo and the Bunnymen, Coheed and Cambria, Drive Like Jehu, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Eagles of Death Metal, De La Soul, Jimmy Cliff, Flogging Molly, Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley, the Thurston Moore Band, the Damned, Benjamin Booker, Doomtree, Taking Back Sunday, the Joy Formidable, Andrew W.K., FIDLAR and more.
