The Zoobombs’ midnight performance was bumped back an hour, leaving to see ROS. Evidently, Owen Pallett and Patrick Wolf had similar plans; both of them were rocking out stage side to ROS’ charmingly theatrical post-punk. Quite in your face about being socially conscious with banter about Marx and staying angry to affect change, the band were also invigorating in their pro-active optimism. Maggie’s dramatically conversational vocal approach occasionally went awry, but was well supported by Jonny and Marlena’s consistent harmonies. The addition of saxophone was great, once it was audible, enhancing a strong batch of songs by a group of natural leaders and performers.
