Winnipeg folk trio Red Moon Road are gearing up to release their new record Sorrows and Glories in 2015, but in anticipation of the forthcoming material, Exclaim.ca is pleased to give you a first look at the band's brand new video for "Words of the Walls."
The clip was filmed in Winnipeg's Rosalyn apartment complex — "the 100 year old nexus of 'hipster' living and the home of Western Canada's oldest elevator," according to a press release — and features the band playing with the same set-up they'll be taking on the road this fall. There's a mini roots drum kit shared between members, a low-tuned acoustic guitar, a moustachioed man on mandolin, lap steel, banjo and organ, as well as Sheena Rattai delivering some powerful lead vocals.
The song itself makes reference to the Rosalyn complex with its character apartments and antique elevator, so the video's setting couldn't be more perfect. If you like what you see, you can catch the band as they embark on what's being dubbed the Cast Off Tour this fall.
Following a frisbee accident that left Rattai with a broken leg and the band with a cancelled tour, Red Moon Road are back and ready to take their music on the road again. You can see the upcoming dates listed below and scroll past them to watch the new video for "Words of the Walls."
