Real Estate's Martin Courtney Delivers Solo Debut for Domino

Since Matt Mondanile is currently putting the focus on his Ducktails project, fellow Real Estate member Martin Courtney has opted to put together a new album of his own. The frontman/guitarist's debut full-length, Many Moons, will rise October 30 via Domino.

A press release explains that much of Courtney's 10-song LP was written on the road, while Real Estate were  promoting their third album, Atlas. The vocalist/guitarist later put together a backup band featuring Woods member Jarvis Taveniere, Julian Lynch and Matt Kallman, who gave his arrangements "sonic clarity."

Taveniere did double duty on Many Moons, additionally serving as its producer.

Said to be influenced by the music of Big Star and the Kinks, the album also features orchestral passages, instrumental sections, and "a sweetly luxurious string and flute number."

Lyrically, Many Moons is said to have Courtney singing about family, becoming a father, and life on the road. You can sample some of the set below, via a newly launched video for the record's "Northern Highway." There, you'll also find a tracklisting.
