"Love Kills - The Ballad"

BY Alex HudsonPublished Sep 30, 2014

"Love Kills" was originally released in 1984 as a Freddie Mercury solo track with producer Giorgio Moroder, but a full band version appears on the Queen's new compilation, Queen Forever. This balladic reworking can be heard now.

While the prior solo rendition was a danceable synth-pop number, this version turns it into a towering, Bic-waving power ballad. There's an apreggiator break halfway through that evokes the pulse of the solo version, but it turns back into rock for the final passage.

Hear it below. Queen Forever drops on November 11 through Hollywood Records.
