The Provincial Archive Reveal 'It's All Shaken Wonder' LP, Share New Video

Today (June 10) marks the official release the Provincial Archive's Hide Like a Secret EP, and the celebration is being timed with the Edmonton band also shedding the details behind a forthcoming full-length. Titled It's All Shaken Wonder, the folk-rock-flavoured group's new record arrives August 19 via Black Box Music.

A press release mentions that the album, their third overall, was the first to be recorded in a proper studio. Singer/guitarist Craig Schram noted the change of scenery and finite schedule led to the band to produce a more focused effort.

"In the past we recorded exclusively at home with all of the time and comforts that it affords. The studio puts some constraints around us and made it more important for us to examine all of our ideas in rehearsal before getting in to record," he said in a statement, adding, "I think it made everything that we did, from writing to production, more thoughtful."

A video for album opener "Daisy Garden," which is also on Hide Like a Secret, was delivered today, with the Blake McWilliam-directed clip weighing in on issues surrounding aging and battling Alzheimer's. Schram added of the track: "I wrote 'Daisy Garden' about my grandmother's struggle, outward and inward, with the decline in her mental state."

You can see the video down below. Some proceeds from the sales of Hide Like a Secret will go to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada via Boom Charity.
