With an official Coachella reunion and expanded Give Up reissue on the way, Ben Gibbard and Jimmy Tamborello are in for quite the year as they revisit their long-dormant Postal Service project. Their schedule just got significantly more busy, however, as they've expanded the reunion into a full North American tour.
The itinerary is nothing to scoff at, but there is a noticeable lack of Canadian shows. They haven't ignored us completely, however, as they'll hit Toronto's Air Canada Centre on June 11 and Vancouver's Rogers Arena on July 16. The whole tour schedule is available below.
The group also have a mini-documentary called 10 Years of the Postal Service on the way courtesy of indie rock comedy guru Tom Scharpling.
Speaking with MTV Hive, Scharpling explained that there are actually two documentary components with the following statement:
One is a mini-documentary, getting Ben Gibbard and Jimmy Tamborello to tell the story of how this weird band came together and how they were mailing each other CD-R's back and forth. It's a straight mini-doc thing that should be out shortly. The other is a funny video that takes place in 2002, that shows Jimmy auditioning potential lead singers for Postal Service. We got an amazing group of people to come through.
