One of Montreal's biggest annual festivals is back for another go-around. Pop Montreal is now in its 14th year, and the festival has confirmed some of the names who will be participating in this year's edition.
The event will run from September 16 to 20 at various venues around Montreal. So far, confirmed performers include Giorgio Moroder, Godflesh, Will Butler, Built to Spill, Mikal Cronin, Ought, "Pathway to Paris" (a collaborative concert featuring Thurston Moore, AroarA and more), the Cribs, Coeur de Pirate, Cairo Gang, Babes in Toyland, Bully, Cannibal Ox, Heartless Bastards, Jerusalem in my Heart, Murder by Death, Stars of the Lid and more.
There are still more than 400 acts to be announced, so we can expect that lineup to get a whole lot bigger. Mobile apps for the festival will be available on May 20. Tickets for the newly announced shows will go on sale on Friday (May 8) at noon local time.
In the meantime, the folks at Pop Montreal are putting on lots of events around their home city that aren't a part of the September festival. See their full event listings here.
